Aptiv, established in 1976 as Riverfront Activity Center, was the idea of three friends from the community of La Crosse, WI to develop one nonprofit organization that supported individuals with disabilities in all three primary needs--social, employment, and independent living. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A FACILITY AND GROUNDS WORKER As a Facility and Grounds Worker, you are passionate about ensuring that all staff, participants, and visitors are provided a safe, healthy, and sanitary environment while using our facilities, vehicles, or equipment. Whether doing lawn care, snow removal, vehicle work, or light maintenance, your can-do attitude is legendary. Essential Qualifications Ability to crouch, bend, and stand for long periods, and lift objects that are to 50 pounds Ability to operate small tools and light equipment typically used in lawn care, snow removal as well as building and vehicle maintenance Ability to do or to assist with light construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, vehicle maintenance, or other related tasks Assist with troubleshooting vehicle or other mechanical issues Assist with scheduling and maintaining the vehicle fleet Ability to travel to remote locations on occasion Any previous experience as a groundskeeper, farmer, vehicle technician or maintenance person is a plus! Are you energetic and always willing to help? Do you love working outside no matter what the weather? Could you get along well with a variety of people such as staff, participants, and vendors?
