Hickory Orchard, LLC Farmworker, Crop: Apples in La Crescent, Minnesota
Need 4 full time, temporary, seasonal Farmworkers to work in La Crescent, MN. From: 01/15/2025 - 10/31/2025 Work: 40 hrs./week, Mon.-Fri. 8 hrs./day. 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. These are the anticipated hours to be worked. These hours could increase, or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. A worker can earn bonuses and/or wage increases based on performance and length of service with the employer, this benefit is at the sole discretion of the employer. All hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. JOB DUTIES: Worker will plant trees, do fence and trellis repair and other orchard maintenance, thin apples, cut away dead and excess branches from fruit trees using handsaws, chainsaws, pruning hoods and shears, may apply healing compound to pruning wounds. Worker will pull weeds and may mow orchard grounds, and May cut down and fertilize trees. Worker will operate pruning equipment and tractors to remove limbs and brush from pruning sites. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 1 month apple orchard experience. Able to lift 50 lbs. Able to work in extreme weather conditions, able to perform work requiring extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, walking, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements. Able to work with sharp instruments, open fire, and do ladder work. No minimum education required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
