DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Corrections Officer 3, you oversee subordinate officers, ensure strict compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations, and conduct thorough inspections to uphold high performance standards. You will also conduct employee evaluations and interviews with prospective staff and train new subordinate staff. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee and direct the daily care and operations of the inmates, making a significant impact on their rehabilitation and the facility's overall functionality. You will manage daily operations, including security, food service, plant maintenance, medical service, and recreational activities. You will plan inmate movements, ensure adequate supervision, conduct tours of inmate housing units, monitor inmate behavior, counsel inmates, and maintain records. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours will be determined. The selected applicant will work a 40-hour work week with rotating days off. This position is eligible for retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:Applicants who are new to the Commonwealth will start employment at $52,306 annually (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Corrections Officer 2 (Commonwealth job title); or

Four years of experience in corrections security work in a Pennsylvania state or county corrections facility. (Note: Persons seeking employment under this option will be required to successfully complete, or have completed, a training program conducted by the Department of Corrections.)

Other Requirements: PA residency requirementis currently waived for this title. Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
