KYLE-CITY OF Building Maintenance Technician in KYLE, Texas
General Statement
Performs daily custodial maintenance duties including but not limitedtodusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, and cleaning and restocking restrooms.Performs routine cleaning of offices and public areas in City buildings and facilities such as: Kyle City Hall, Kyle Police Station, Kyle Public Library, Kyle Train Depot, and others as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Cleans, vacuums, sweeps, dust mops, wet mops floors, stairways, and corridors to ensure cleanliness both inside and outside of public buildings and facilities.
Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Orders supplies andmaintainsinventory of supplies.
Cleans restrooms and restocks paper and soap supplies. Empties trach receptacles and bag trash for proper disposal. Change light bulbs as needed. Wash windows inside and outside; remove ice,snowand other debris for safety from entrances and exits to buildings.
Assists with setting up meeting andwork spaces,city facilitiesincluding, but not limited to moving tables, chairs, trash cans and audio/visual equipment.
Drives to and from sites in order to complete work assignments.Communicates with co-workersin order tocoordinate activities.
Performs daily facility preparation tasks including janitorial duties at all City buildings, set-up of tables and chairs for City Council and/or Planning and Zoning Meetings.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
