Applied Materials Application Engineer in Kulim, Malaysia

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops customer-facing solutions using Applied visual programming languages

  • Performs software tests on code and enhancements, and develops software documentation

  • Troubleshoots a variety of moderately difficult software problems

  • Interfaces with internal customers for requirements analysis and scheduling

  • Interfaces with internal customers regarding software issues

  • Collaborates with remote and distributed team members

Functional Knowledge

  • Must have an understanding of software development processes and methodologies

  • Comfortable with hands-on tools like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket or Git, JFrog, etc.

  • Understanding of SQL and relational database design

  • Prior knowledge and experience in Applied APF RTD and Activity Manager a big plus

  • Experience with Windows and RHEL is preferred

  • Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work

Leadership

  • No supervisory responsibilities but provides informal guidance to new team members

  • Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents
