Kuehne+Nagel Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

You will be joining our Operational Care Team to add your leadership expertise + skills to the delivery of Operational Excellence.

Your Role

You will be responsible for enabling transport activities by executing bookings, entering orders while liaising with our customer care specialists to ensure all requirements are met in a timely + efficient manner.

Your Responsibilities

You will do this by working with a variety of internal + external stakeholders while focusing on the following key objectives:

  • To create/complete shipment details in our internal transport management system (carrier/vessel, item description etc).

  • To monitor + report on operational performance of carriers + other vendors as well as ensuring strong data quality is available for timely + accurate customer reporting.

  • To coordinate with our customer care teams (CCL), haulers + carriers for the export of shipments + organize transport activities based on the customer promise.

  • To obtain dangerous goods (DG) approval where necessary.

  • To create files for consolidation containers (unless performed by dedicated planners).

  • To ensure costs + revenues are entered during the shipment creation, providing cost awareness + efficiency, ensuring profit maximization.

  • To support in resolving claims + disputes.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

  • 3 years of experience in sea freight operations, preferably in a booking or customer service role.

  • Knowledge of sea freight booking processes, carrier operations, and shipping documentation.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with carriers and customers.

  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems, including booking platforms and ERP systems.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple bookings and deadlines effectively.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.

  • Good communication skills
