Job Description Summary

The Commercial Manager (CM) is responsible for the leadership and coordination of all aspects in the Inquiry to Order (ITO) phase of proposal management. This includes proposal development, risk management and mitigation, specification compliance, scope development, pricing, and issue resolution for proposals to which they will own.

The Commercial Manager will manage the R-Process, Policy 5.0 compliance, proposal and contract negotiation including Master Agreements and new Multi-year Maintenance Program Agreements (MMP), and R3 turnover processes for all Transactional Services offerings in the assigned countries. These include

Upgrades, Field Services, MMP’s, Complex Parts & Repairs packages, Contractual Services (CS) extra work,

digital and cyber quote support where needed, for GE Gas Turbines, Combined Cycle Steam Turbine Generators & HRSG installed base.

Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Provide full proposal leadership from initial inquiry to deal closure and handover (track key dates, manage stakeholders and proposal submission deadlines).

  • Responsible for running an efficient, consistent, and compliant Policy 5.0 Risk Management process starting from deal screening (R0), resource allocation (R1), deal reviews (R2), and contract hand over (R3).

  • Perform initial risk evaluation, determine feasibility, and bid compliance concerns.

  • Tight coordination with internal stakeholders in completing the technical & commercial aspects of the proposal development phase – sales, finance, execution, risk, legal, engineering, etc.

  • Ensure Risk Checklist & DOA are reviewed & completed for all proposals. • Review, respond and negotiate terms & conditions.

  • Propose and support formal R2 to obtain pricing and contract deviation approvals (regional and HQ).

  • Generate final proposal with approved deviations/language as required. • Manage all deal related documentation prior to handover to execution team

  • Use appropriate business tools e.g. NEX, Tableau, CMR, JCE, FINSUM, CPQ, SC workflows, etc.

  • Support sales team in deal negotiation and closure

  • Prepare order acknowledgements, obtain contract signatures, and ensure internal order booking is completed on-time.

  • Conduct formal R3 review to handover execution requirements/documents.

Skills & experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English

  • Strong influencing skills towards internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work with country team and customers predominantly in the ANZ region.

  • Understands Terms & Conditions with prior experience in customer negotiations

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industry-related commercial / tendering /contract management/ project management.

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred

  • Leadership program graduate is preferred

  • Knowledge of customer financial drivers / needs in power market is preferred •

  • Proven Customer-focused mindset with ability to understand and respond analytically to customer needs

  • Prior experience in closing large and complex agreements or executing complex projects is preferred
