Google Technical Program Manager, Web Apps on ChromeOS in Kraków, Poland

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Computer Science, Software Engineering, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience in managing technical programs or cross-functional projects.

  • Experience managing software through the full product development lifecycle.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Possess a deep understanding of operating system development, the web development landscape, and passion for driving innovation.

  • Proactive with the ability to conceive and accept responsibility for projects and see them through completion.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels including executive leadership team, peers, managers, and external partners.

  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, and people skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you plan, direct, and manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal and external customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks, and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines. You will be key to ensuring strategic execution and operational cohesiveness across multiple cross-functional and cross-product teams.

  • Partner with Engineers and Product Managers to track, coordinate and manage through resolution for large-scale efforts, launch features, and issues.

  • Develop tools and end-to-end processes to enable all teams to operate efficiently and at scale.

  • Identify dependencies within the team or on cross-functional teams, as well keep all stakeholders aligned and escalate issues as necessary.

  • Assess the quality of build releases through monitoring and triaging of incoming bugs to identify trends and quality issues and work with the team to resolve and make the most impact, at scale.

  • Share efforts across the team as well as other stakeholders through various means of communications channels.
