IT Senior Leader - Architecture (Data and Digital Platform Architecture)
We are seeking an IT Senior Leader - Architecture (Data and Digital Platform Architecture) to lead a high-impact team responsible for delivering Technology Strategy, Architecture, and Solution Enablement services across Aon. This role will focus on advancing Aon’s data and digital platform capabilities, including Cloud, Data Architecture, Process Automation, Integration, BPM, Low-Code, Workflow, Case Management, End-User Digital Platforms, and AI/ML, with a strong emphasis on Data Architecture. The successful candidate will guide Aon’s transformation journey, driving innovation and aligning with the organization's strategic vision to position Aon as a leader in data and digital platforms.

Your Impact:
As the IT Senior Leader, you will lead a global team of enterprise architects and technology strategists, partnering with stakeholders to design and implement cutting-edge architectures and strategies. You will oversee key initiatives, including application rationalization, EA tool adoption and data architecture, ensuring the organization maximizes value through technology while mitigating risks.
Job Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of architects and technology strategists, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with Aon’s business objectives.
Strategic IT Roadmap: Develop and execute a comprehensive IT roadmap to support Aon’s transformation, aligning technology with business goals for data and digital platforms.
Data Architecture Leadership: Define and implement enterprise Data Architecture strategies, including data modeling, data integration, data governance, and cloud-based data platforms. Ensure robust architecture supports analytics, AI/ML, and operational systems.
Technology and Digital Platform Architecture: Define and deliver future-state architectures integrating people, processes, and technology for both data and digital solutions supporting internal and external customers.
Application Portfolio Management (APM): Oversee the ServiceNow APM function, ensuring a unified source of truth for applications. Lead application rationalization to streamline the application portfolio, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
EA Tool Implementation: Drive the adoption of enterprise architecture tools such as ServiceNow APM, LeanIX, and BizzDesign, integrating them into Aon’s strategy to enhance decision-making, data management, and portfolio management.
Reference Architecture and Standards: Establish and maintain Reference Architectures and technology standards, including frameworks for containerization, Micro UI, data pipelines, and application architecture models.
Data Governance and Quality: Collaborate with data owners and business units to implement effective data governance frameworks, improving the accuracy, consistency, and security of enterprise data.
Intelligent Automation: Champion intelligent automation initiatives by establishing an Enablement Center to onboard new use cases and expand Aon’s digital process capabilities.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior business and technology leaders to ensure solutions meet organizational needs, gathering input and fostering buy-in across stakeholders.
Technology Risk Management: Proactively assess and mitigate risks associated with IT and data investments, balancing innovation with operational stability.
Transformation Leadership: Spearhead data and digital platform transformation initiatives to promote innovation, enhance customer experience, and drive operational excellence.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Required Experience:
15+ years of progressive IT experience, including expertise in IT strategy, data architecture, integration management, application portfolio management, and data and digital transformation within large, complex organizations.
Proven experience in a senior leadership role, ideally at the Senior Director level or equivalent.
Extensive expertise in Data Architecture, including data modeling, data integration platforms, data lakes, data governance, and cloud-based data solutions.
Strong record of success in Application Portfolio Management (APM), including hands-on experience with ServiceNow APM (ideally) to optimize application portfolios and improve efficiency.
Experience with enterprise architecture tools such as ServiceNow, LeanIX, or BizzDesign, including successful implementation and integration into organizational strategies.
Demonstrated ability to lead data and digital platform transformation initiatives in global environments, with a focus on promoting innovation and measurable growth.
Strong background in defining and implementing Reference Architectures and technology standards for data and digital platforms.
Practical experience with intelligent automation and onboarding use cases to increase process efficiency.
Excellent technical and strategic communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Proven track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams, ensuring alignment with tactical and strategic goals.

Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree such as MS or MBA is a plus).
Certifications in TOGAF, ArchiMate, or related frameworks preferred.
Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are a plus.
Certifications or experience in Data Governance and Data Management tools are advantageous.
