IT Senior Leader - Architecture (Infrastructure Architecture)
We are seeking a Senior Architecture Leader to join and lead the Infrastructure Architecture Team, a key component of the Global Enterprise Architecture group. This team is responsible for designing and managing global platforms that drive enterprise-scale productivity and value delivery. In this role, you will partner with teams across the organization to accelerate the next wave of cloud innovation.
You will oversee the development of target-state guidance, including reusable standards, guidelines, and configurations, to support evolving application platforms and infrastructure across the enterprise. The role demands strong leadership, technical governance expertise, and a proven ability to inspire global teams while adhering to Aon United principles.

Your Impact as a Senior Architecture Leader:
This position is based in Krakow, Poland, and involves close collaboration with local and global teams in architecture, application development, and engineering. You will work as part of a center of excellence to define and support services, processes, and technology platforms across public and private clouds, enabling secure and autonomous colleague experiences.
We are looking for an experienced technical leader with a strong work ethic who can set new standards, establish reference architectures, and develop patterns for public and private cloud services. This role also encompasses application rationalization and expertise in enterprise architecture modeling and tools.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Alignment: Understand business drivers and current/future capabilities to provide enterprise system designs and recommend changes to meet business objectives.
Leadership and Collaboration: Provide guidance to application architects, ensuring projects align with the overall enterprise architecture strategy.
Platform and Standards Development: Facilitate the evaluation and selection of software product standards, services, and configurations for global platforms.
Project Consultation: Support application and infrastructure development projects by aligning systems or infrastructure to the overall architecture.
Application Rationalization: Drive the rationalization of Aon’s application portfolio, ensuring streamlined processes and alignment with enterprise goals.
EA Modeling and Tools: Leverage enterprise architecture tools such as ServiceNow APM, BizzDesign, or LeanIX to model current and target states.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
Required Experience:
8+ years of enterprise or solution architecture experience, with demonstrated leadership in designing and implementing enterprise-scale solutions.
10+ years of IT engineering or similar experience, including significant hands-on experience with infrastructure, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.
Proven track record of leading architecture teams and initiatives, including mentoring and managing architects across multiple regions.
Expertise in architecting and implementing solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP public clouds.
Experience designing and implementing large-scale, application-focused infrastructure solutions leveraging IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
Strong background in TOGAF, Enterprise Architect approaches, and IT Architecture Governance.
Practical experience with ServiceNow APM or similar tools, with a focus on portfolio optimization and application rationalization.
Proficiency in enterprise architecture modeling tools such as BizzDesign, LeanIX, or ArchiMate.
Extensive experience with IT governance frameworks, operations, and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.
Familiarity with Agile, Lean, or Scrum methodologies, and a proven ability to deliver in fast-paced environments.
Industry experience in financial services or insurance is a strong plus.
Knowledge of API management platforms such as Azure APIm or equivalent tools.
Systems thinking and the ability to develop "big picture" strategies while addressing technical details effectively.
