The Global Security Architecture team is seeking a motivated Information Security Analyst. In this role you will interface between Global Security Services and the Aon business globally, acting as a center of competence for data retention and destruction related queries, supporting business teams, initiatives, and projects in addition to collaborating on data and information controls and processes. A key focus of the role will be in identification of opportunities to automate and remove friction from data-related processes. As a member of the Security Architecture team, the growth trajectory for this role will to be transition to a Security Architect role as current processes are automated and no longer require attention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for contributing and actively taking part in Aon’s Global Data and Information Lifecycle Management activities, including:

  • Collaborate with Data Office and other stakeholders to implement/run data and information lifecycle management controls

  • Support colleagues on information lifecycle management awareness

  • Support Aon’s Global Record Retention Schedules, by providing training, awareness and involvement in the change request process

  • Support global information lifecycle management projects and initiatives

  • Liaise with global archive vendors to coordinate record and information management lifecycle activities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders with regards to destruction approvals, certification and management of documentation and processes

  • Collaborate with the business on new data application reviews

  • Liaise and collaborate with key global organisation business units (e.g. Security, Privacy, Compliance and Legal)

  • Responsibility for the communication and provision of training on record and data management policies, standards and best practices

  • Analyse physical file inventory for destruction eligibility against the Records Retention Schedule

  • Validate targeted physical records due for destruction against existing / anticipated Legal Holds

    Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success

  • Solid understanding of Information Governance, including records management knowledge, IT applications, data repositories, physical records management and associated standard methodologies for data lifecycle management

  • Understanding of global legal requirements, regulations related to record lifecycle management

  • Ability to deconstruct and identify friction within business and IT processes

  • Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn new skills and disciplines

  • Strong vendor collaboration/management experience

  • Ability to build multi-functional relationships and identify opportunities for mutual benefit

  • Comfortable presenting management information/reporting to senior management

  • Comfortable running training sessions with business stakeholders

  • Previous experience in a regulated financial services environment

  • Previous experience of working with outsourced service providers

  • Experience and involvement in external audit and vendors

  • Excellent knowledge of data, information and records management processes and policies

  • Knowledge of legal requirements for the retention of business records is an advantage

    Education

    BA/BS degree or international equivalent in a relevant subject or equivalent work experience.
