Amentum Project Accounting & Accounts Receivable Manager (w/m/x) in Kraków, Poland

For our Global Delivery Organization (GDO) in Krakow we are currently looking for a Project Accounting & Accounts Receivable Manager.

The aim of this role is to manage the team of Project Accountants working on assigned portfolios of projects. The Project Accounting & Accounts Receivable Manager has primary responsibility for ensuring projects are maintained in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities of our Project Accounting & Accounts Receivable Manager*:

  • Manages the team of 35+ employees via 3-5 supervisors

  • Ensures that revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP and company policies, reviews key project metrics on a monthly basis

  • Reviews and approves various journal entries such as: revenue adjustments, cost accruals, provision for loss

  • Ensures timely collection and application of cash, reviews key cash management related entries on weekly and monthly basis

  • Monitors project balances on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Unbilled and Unearned items, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)

  • Reviews month-end reporting on project performance including gross margin variances and all other financial activities, prepares specialized reports and accounting data analysis as required

  • Ensures that PA procedures and contract requirements are followed for project set-up, invoicing and closure and proper documentation is retained.

  • Leads, motivates and coaches Project Accounting and Accounts Receivable teams, Actively participates in the recruitment, training, retention and motivation of the team, in order to develop commitment and drive high performance. Responsible for conducting interim and year-end appraisals, as well as employees’ development, by setting clear goals and expectations.

  • Provides guidance to Supervisors and Accountants on complex accounting matters

  • Identifies changes in existing procedures and policies, provides appropriate training to team members

  • Participates in transition of work and processes stabilization

  • Actively collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance

  • Enforces internal controls and company procedures

  • Supports Project Delivery teams and responds to escalations

  • Participates in enterprise and GDO initiatives

  • Ad hoc reporting

  • MA Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent

  • 8+ years of professional accounting experience with international exposure

  • Proven supervisory experience

  • Understanding of US GAAP and SOX controls

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting processes. Ability to apply accounting/finance knowledge and technical skills to large number of diverse situations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and change management skills,

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload, multi task and meet required deadlines
