Kodiak Island Borough Laborer (Temporary) in Kodiak, Alaska
The Kodiak Island Borough is hiring laborers to assist with the basic maintenance of grounds and facilities. This position is temporary and expected to last three to six months. Hours are 8:00-5:00, Monday through Friday.
General Laborers perform a variety of tasks, indoors and outside, at various sites. The job duties of a General Laborer vary and may include lawn mowing, cleaning and preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials, litter control, clearing snow, and using a variety of tools and machines such as lawnmowers, pallet jacks, weed eaters, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, water spraying equipment, and snow blowers.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old Must possess a valid driver's license Must be able to pass OSHA training classes
Special Requirements
Must be able and willing to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Must possess the ability to understand and communicate information both verbally and written.
