Core Responsibilities
Our new Software Principal Engineer (PE) will lead formulation, technical design, and implementation of strategic objectives as strong partner to the Head of Infrastructure Digital Platforms. Champion architecture principles and helping product teams secure consistent solution design and reuse of components and services. Apart from ensuring technical excellence, the PE work with the organization and support implementing the proposed solutions.
As a technical leader the PE will play a key role in crafting the overarching digital system architecture and collaborate with peers and colleagues in other domains to define and implement a robust and flexible digital architecture for the LEGO Group.
Formulating technical roadmaps and system architecture in collaboration with product teams.
Stage the management of technology scope and risks.
Building prototypes and crafting compelling concepts by being at the forefront of proof of concepts and innovations.

The role of the Infrastructure Digital Platforms domain, part of the Digital Technology organization, is providing secure, scalable, and modern cloud and infrastructure services and IT platforms to the digital workforce in the LEGO Group.

The technology landscape is abstract. We work with a variety of technologies and cover a broad field of infrastructure and platform capabilities and services within e.g. Cloud (AWS/Azure), Edge, Container orchestration, API’s, Event broker, Network, SAP, IAM, Gen AI, and a broad suite of tools for developers and other colleagues.
The role is based in the new LEGO® Digital office in Copenhagen, and we offer an exciting, inspiring, and flexible work environment – and a little fun as well!
Do you have what it takes?
The preferred candidate has a solid background in software engineering or computer science. We wish to see experience built from 8-10 years of working in a technical role, e.g., as a staff engineer or an IT enterprise/solution architect. Preferably a few years within a similar field of responsibilities including deep technical leadership.
Achievements are based on practical and theoretical knowledge of IT solution architecture and hands-on experience with software engineering in relevant proficiency areas.
Are an excellent problem solver who is not fixed on technology but looks at how to craft the best possible solution together with colleagues.
Love a technical challenge and filling in the dots to ensure that all requirements are understood and fulfilled.
Communication and collaboration are part of the PE natural superpower. People look up to this role and seek to become as skilled as the PE. People listen and trust the PE's expert opinion. The right candidate loves and excel in teaching own skills and approaches to others.

Location can be based in either Copenhagen or Billund, Denmark but no relocation assistance is offered for this position.
