Description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee. This role will involve a variety of tasks, including journal entries, month-end close, reconciliations, assisting with payroll, budgeting and forecasting, and SOX Compliance. Working within a manufacturing setting, the Senior Accountant will report to both the Controller and the President of the company.

Responsibilities

• Handling journal entries accurately and in a timely manner

• Overseeing the month-end close process

• Conducting account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Assisting with payroll processes and procedures

• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities

• Ensuring compliance with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley regulations

• Utilizing Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks

• Operating QuickBooks and Epicor for financial management

• Responding to ad hoc reporting requests as necessary.

Requirements • Applicant must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation is required.

• Experience in bank reconciliations is necessary.

• Applicant must have thorough knowledge of general ledger maintenance.

• Familiarity with creating and maintaining journal entries is a must.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

• Experience in month-end close activities is necessary.

• Knowledge of QuickBooks is essential for this role.

• Familiarity with Epicor software will be considered an advantage.

• Understanding and experience with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley compliance is necessary.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously is required.

• The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment is necessary.

• A high level of attention to detail and accuracy is required.

• A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.
