Description

Role: Senior Accountant

Location: Knoxville/ONSITE

CONTRACT - 4 weeks plus potential extension

The Sr. accountant will play a vital role in financial tracking, reporting, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  1. General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Post journal entries and ensure accuracy of financial data.

  2. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  3. Monthly, Quarterly, and Year-End Close: Assist the month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

  4. Variance Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth. Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making.

  5. Compliance: Collaborate with Finance Controller and external professionals to ensure Tax, SOX, and Audit compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Assist in coordination of external audits, provide necessary documentation and address inquiries.

  6. Financial Systems: Collaborate with IT to improve financial systems, streamline processes, and implement best practices.

    Requirements

• Expertise in using QuickBooks is mandatory

• Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant

• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Expertise in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and analysis

• Experience in handling Month End Close, Year-end Close, and Capital Assets

• Skills in Variance Analysis and Financial Reporting are essential

• Experience in the Manufacturing industry is needed
