Amergis Program Director - Special Education School in Knoxville, Tennessee
AmergisEducational Staffing is seeking a Program Director for a private therapeuticschool which specializes in meeting the needs of children with Autism and otherunique learning styles and abilities.
Overview:
The Program Director must be able to develop andimplement effective special education programs, including designingcurriculum that addresses the unique needs of students, creating appropriateassessment strategies to monitor student progress, and evaluating programeffectiveness. The Program Director should possess the expertise to identifyand implement evidence-based practices, ensure compliance with relevant lawsand regulations, provide administrative support in financial planning and budgetmanagement, and continuously improve the program to meet the evolving needs ofstudents.
The Program Director must also be able to build positiverelationships with parents and additional service providers. Parents should be engagedin the educational process and the Director must be able to address anyconcerns while continuously involving them in decision-making. The Director mustfoster a collaborative environment between staff, students, parents, andproviders which supports student success and encourages a spirit of inclusivitywithin the school community.
Requirements:
2+ years ofexperience in education, including curriculum or program development oradministration, with the ability to implement accountability measures andprofessional development in support of high-quality instruction
Must havein-classroom experience in a special education setting
Demonstratedexperience and competence in working with operations, finance, budgets, andfinancial planning
Demonstratedsuccess in achievement for students within special education populations
Demonstratedleadership experience
Demonstratedrecord of developing talent in teams
Proven trackrecord of driving high student achievement and growth
Bachelor’sDegree for higher from an accredited university preferred
Complieswith all relevant professional standards of practice
Participationand completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
Current CPRif applicable
TBQuestionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
CurrentHealth certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meetall federal, state and local requirements
Successfulcompletion of new hire training as applicable to job site
Understandpatient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
Ability toeffectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals(including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strongcommunication skills; proficiency in the English language required
Computerproficiency required
Must be atleast 18 years of age
