Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Description

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs:

  • Screening and controlling of material used in the processing, manufacture, and distribution of blood and plasma products.

  • Independently performs, interprets, and troubleshoots laboratory procedures related to unit and/or donor suitability testing.

  • Develop proficiency in laboratory information systems and workflow of samples.

  • Analytical testing using manual and automated methods and procedures, analyzing test results against set controls.

  • Completing maintenance and Quality Control (QC) per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • The MLT shares information with internal contacts with a common desire to reach a solution and follows all safety regulations, Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, and rules.

  • Operate analytical instrumentation and technical laboratory equipment, perform and document troubleshooting and calibration of instruments, and conduct routine preventative maintenance of assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
