Position Description:
CGI is seeking a detail-oriented Jr. Business Analyst to support our production systems for multiple clients in consumer financial services. Working in a cross-functional agile Kanban team, you will be working closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure smooth operation and continuous improvement of our web applications. In addition, you will be designing, testing, demoing and documenting defects and enhancements.
You will evaluate client issues to determine the best approach for meeting the needs within the existing application. Business Analysts will be involved in backlog refinement, Kanban planning, reviews/demos as well as being responsible for meeting software compliance standards.
This role is in Knoxville, TN. The work schedule is on site 4-5 days a week. Be on call on the weekend and evenings about once a month on a rotating basis.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and develop mitigation strategies.
• Assist in writing user stories with SMART acceptance criteria.
• Supporting testing activities including test preparation, ensuring test cases and scripts cover all requirements and design specifications. Writing manual test cases and test scripts based on requirements and user stories.
• Proactively bringing issues and problems to the attention of the team; generating, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to solve them.
• Logging defects, testing/retesting defects, tracking progress and results.
Updating product documentation for new or existing functionality.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Facilitation skills, including leading meetings, presentation skills, problem resolution/mediation.
• Understanding of web applications and cloud technologies.
• High degree of responsiveness and ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
• Process improvement experience
• Exposure to SQL DB
• Familiar with Jira and an Agile environment
• This position is required full time in the Knoxville office
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required
• Familiarity with collections, servicing, or originations in consumer financial services
• Ability to think outside the box
• Thrive in a team environment
• Basic understanding of DevOps practices and tools
• Experience in an agile scrum or Kanban team
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $55,700-97,500.
