Job Purpose/Scope: The purpose of these roles at Unitrac Railroad Materials are to aid the production process of finished product. Examples of roles that support production are: Panel Assembler/Laborer, Welder, CNC Machine Operator, Machinist, Maintenance Technician, and Material Handler.
Common Job Duties/Responsibilities: While each role will require expertise to specific skills to each role, all jobs include the below essential responsibilities.
Use and read blueprints/design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.
Maintain a clean work area and follow the 5s criteria.
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Ability to work any shift and or overtime if requested to ensure the customers’ demands are met.
General laborer/Panel Assembler
Ability to use or learn to use Tools such as Jack hammers, impact drills, impacts, 10 to 15 pound sledge hammers, spiking mauls, grinders, drills, tape measures, wrenches and track wrenches.
Welder
Use MiG welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies as required, meeting defined production schedules. Supply quality parts & assemblies from jigs and fixtures. Work on special projects as required.
CNC Machine Operator
Produces machined parts by loading program, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine safely and accurately; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining PM checks and needed tools and supplies at the work station.
Maintenance Technician
Primarily responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining CNC Machines. Secondly, must diagnose, repair, & maintain heavy construction vehicles and equipment such as excavators, forklifts, dump trucks, front-end loaders, and other support equipment such as generators and hydraulic units.
Material Handler
Maintains inventory to support production flow and warehouse organization
by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory, and locating materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
