Cummins Inc. Field Service Diesel Technician in Knoxville, Tennessee
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Knoxville, TN.
You will make an impact in the following ways:
Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
Maintain own tools
RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
(Advanced):
Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
Larger more complicated engine rebuilds
Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)
QUALIFICATIONS
CDL required
Strong mechanical background
Must have proper tooling
Cummins engine product knowledge
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
Willing to learn and be flexible in role FSPG dual role
DOT
A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
A current valid license is required for this role
This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
3 years driving experience
This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
-Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
The state of Tennessee EPA requires a CDL to transport oil, this role requires a CDL due to EPA requirements.

This role is not subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing
