Armed Security Site Supervisor - 1st Shift- $22.50 per hour
The best candidate will have managerial experience, a security background and an armed security license in hand.
What Security Officers Do:
Our Security Officers protect the Industrial or Commercial property of our clients against fire, vandalism and illegal entry.
professionals also develop training programs and ensure employees receive appropriate instruction before they start working more independently.
Overseeing staff
A security supervisor continues to oversee employees after they complete their training. These professionals might accompany guards on patrols to evaluate their performance and ensure compliance with the organization's security policies. Security supervisors also initiate disciplinary measures and recommend guards for promotions. Additionally, they may provide ongoing training for existing equipment or teach their staff how to use new technology their organization adopts.
Creating schedules
Among their various administrative duties, security supervisors create staff schedules. They account for employee availability, designate shift times, contact employees to fill vacant shifts and calculate overtime. These responsibilities are especially important for security supervisors who work at organizations with 24/7 security. By ensuring posts have an officer present at all times, a security supervisor helps protect their organization from potential neglect claims.
Implementing security policies
Security supervisors use their strategical expertise and knowledge of their organization to develop security policies. For instance, they determine how many guards to post at each station or where to point security cameras. These professionals also enforce protocols for screening visitors and accessing security footage. Additionally, a security supervisor might decide what equipment to use and establish relationships with vendors.
Inspecting equipment
Security guards use equipment ranging from flashlights and first aid kits to burglar alarms and CCTV systems. Supervisors regularly inspect this equipment to ensure that their staff has everything they require to perform their jobs. If they notice missing or faulty equipment, they can order more while staying within the organization's security budget.
Assisting police with investigations
If an incident at the organization escalates, the security supervisor might contact the police. They assist by detaining suspects until local authorities arrive and answering questions about the incident. Security supervisors also provide written reports, footage and court testimonies.
