Job Summary and Qualifications
Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Plant Operations, assists in the overall operation of the department to provide an optimum and cost effective operation of all equipment, buildings, grounds and other hospital properties. Serves as Lead Technician for the Plant Operations Department to provide assignments, assistance and instruction to all Mechanics on a daily basis, as needed.
Essential Functions:
Performs general maintenance and construction functions as directed by the Supervisor of Plant Operations.
Assists the Director of Plant Operations with the daily operations of the department to include: acts as Lead Tech or as the go-to-person for the mechanics, to get assistance or instruction as needed to successfully complete assignments. Ensures work is performed to the highest quality and professional standards by all departmental employees.
Acts as Administrative back up for the Director in the Director’s absence. This is to include full operations of the Plant Operations department and Security Department for the duration of time assigned by the Director. Develops time and cost estimates for projects and maintaining minimum required parts inventory. Assist with making work assignments of all department employees.
Performs preventive maintenance and testing of the emergency generators, transfer switches and associated equipment to NFPA standards.
Immediately identifies and informs the Director of Plant Operations of any malfunctioning equipment.
Completes work orders in timely manner or brings to the attention of the Director all orders which cannot be completed.
Makes repairs as required at all out buildings connected with facility when requested by Director of Plant Operations.
Follows Universal Precautions for infection control at all times.
Complies with OSHA standards in the work place.
What qualifications you will need:
High School Diploma/GED required
Vocational School Graduate
3-5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hospital setting
HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is a purpose-guided healthcare provider. We are a four-story, 150,000-square-foot hospital. We have 70 private beds and a six-bed private ICU. We provide a full range of acute care services including emergency services, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging, and inpatient and outpatient surgery. Other services include cardiac catheterization, laboratory, pharmacy, and a full range of support services. Our Emergency Department (ED) is approximately 14,500 square feet. Our ED consists of 22 private treatment rooms, an EMS entrance, and a helicopter pad.
