SAIC Senior CAD Drafter in KIRTLAND AFB, New Mexico
Description
Are you an experienced Senior CAD Drafter wanting to support the engineering, development, integration and sustainment of numerous satellite ground systems. If so SAIC is looking for you. In this role you will work closely with senior systems engineers and support all satellite ground system needs. You will be part of a knowledgeable research, design, development, test, and evaluation team producing drawing packages per ANSI standards and will provide technical assistance to create, update and maintain drawing packages.
To be successful in this role you must have experience reviewing completed drawings in support of clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning and in support of Functional and Physical Configuration Audit(s); identifying existing drawing errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommending revisions and/or improvements.
You will also identify and interpret requirements for drawings and 3D models, work with engineers to evolve the design to improve performance and manufacturability, and provide technical assistance to engineering teams. Sounds fun right!!
The selected candidate will:
Create and modify detailed drawings using standard computer aided design (CAD) digitizing techniques and skills from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.
Digitize, edit, and revise engineering drawings of components, parts, circuits, structures and/or assemblies.
Check drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.
Collaborate with engineers and configuration analysts regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.
Qualifications
This is you:
Must have TS with SCI eligibility and be able to maintain a TS/SCI eligibility.
Must have 9 or more years’ relevant experience, at least 7 of which is CAD design/drafting (4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of degree).
Experience directly working with drafting of systems designs and/or systems engineering.
Must be experienced in drawing software, including Visio and AutoCAD.
Experience creating, updating and maintaining drawing packages.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
Proficient in Visio.
Proficient in AutoCAD.
Familiarity with Cameo.
Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 Drawing Standards.
Experience with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
PLM/PDM experience.
Familiarity with MIL-STD-31000B.
Ability to ensure the correct level of detail for design, prototype and production.
Ability to identify and interpret requirements for drawings and 3D models.
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
Experience working with engineers to evolve designs to improve performance.
