Air Force Materiel Command LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST-DIRECT HIRING AUTHORITY in Kirtland AFB, New Mexico

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a team member supporting all logistics programs within the organization. Responsibilities Provides total cradle-to grave logistics support for assigned systems or subsystems, integrating the separate functions of supply chain management, maintenance, transportation, procurement, and quality assurance into logistics activities required to perform operations. Assists with studies for development/implementation of logistics mission capabilities for test support/planning, transportation operations, resource support agreements, policies, and procedures. Provides assistance and technical guidance to individuals responsible for shop and laboratory operations. Works with laboratory leads or technicians in defining their equipment/supply needs, then coordinates the requirements with other base/commercial agencies to obtain the service (e.g., calibration, shipping, etc.). Exercises judgment and initiative to support the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory Calibration program, tool control and accountability program, equipment asset control program, periodic equipment maintenance program, technical data program, self-inspection program, and Unit Compliance Inspection preparations. Performs the duties of the Government Purchasing Card Agent or other logistics related duties when tasked by the logistics manager or supervisor. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience in providing assistance in planning, coordinating, and/or evaluating a logistics management program. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR EDUCATION: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs)/COMPETENCIES: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Problem Solving, Communiation, Business Management, and Team Work. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
