Yulista Director of Maintenance JR105019 in Kirtland Afb, New Mexico

Reports directly to Program Manager. The Director of Maintenance has overall responsibility for the planning and execution of all maintenance obligations and lifecycle requirements in support of a customer flight/mission schedule, intermediate and heavy maintenance for two 737-400 and one 737-700 aircraft at Kirtland AFB, NM. The Maintenance Manager exercises authority in administrative accountability, schedule management, personnel supervision, and aircraft maintenance in an SCA environment. Direct Reports to this position are the AMT Supervisor, AMT Leads and Maintenance Planner.

Essential Duties

  • Attend daily maintenance and planning meetings to obtain workload priorities to disseminate to an AMT Supervisor and AMT Leads.
  • Effectively manage a diversified workforce with competing priorities as assigned by the customer.
  • Display experience in effectively managing a Service Contract Act workforce according to Department of Labor regulations.
  • Proficiency using the Daniel CAMP maintenance tracking database that supports all aircraft maintenance.
  • Exhibit extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Support troubleshooting aircraft issues to resolution.
  • Monitor component repair capabilities and recommend repair/no-repair assessments to the customer.
  • Author or collaborate with Maintenance Planner, and present customer assessments/plans or corrective actions associated with aircraft issues.
  • Ensure all hands follow established safety and/or technical directives and procedures necessary for successful contract performance.
  • Exhibit skills in project management, problem-solving, communication, and team building.
  • Effectively communicate with customer representatives, i.e., COR, AOD, and QA.
  • Ensures responsiveness to internal and external corrective action requirements.
  • Ability to perform administrative functions for AMT Supervisor and AMT Leads.
  • May be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has direct reports and supervises aircraft maintenance daily. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks. Direct Reports to this position are the Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor, Aircraft Mechanic Leads and Maintenance Planner.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and correspondence.
  • Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Ability to initiate corrective actions and implement new processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum ten (10) years of relevant aircraft maintenance and aviation related management experience.
  • Bachelors degree in a related field of study with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience or relevant platform experience directly for the Department of Energy.
  • FAA AandP license preferred.
  • Candidate must have solid written and verbal skills to effectively interact with subordinates, peers, and customer representatives and other maintenance organizations.
  • Experience working in configuration management product life cycle systems.
  • Understan ing of engineering documentation (i.e., models, drawings, specifications, parts, change notices, manufacturing plans, and manufacturing procedures).
  • Experience in military, government, or commercial aerospace industry (e.g., aviation/equipment maintenance, aircraft operations, or commercial industrial technology companies).
  • QC/QA experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q or L clearance within a timeframe set forth by management. US Citizenship required.
