Amazon Sr. Manager Plant Fulfillment Leader, Project Kuiper Manufacturing Operations in Kirkland, Washington

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

Kuiper is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manufacturing Plant Fulfillment Leader with a strong background in the aerospace industry. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience and will be responsible for overseeing cross value stream fulfillment operations within our manufacturing plant. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills to ensure efficient, timely, and high-quality delivery of products to our customers. The candidate will embody Amazon's Leadership Principles to drive success and foster a culture of operational excellence.

Key job responsibilities

Reporting to the Sr. Manufacturing Plant Manager, the Sr. Manager Plant Fulfillment will be a key participant on the production leadership team, will own cross value-stream fulfillment operations for Kuiper Manufacturing, and will have significant visibility at the senior leadership level. This role will focus on enabling production at scale to meet the demands of the Kuiper constellation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the single threaded owner for driving cross value stream execution coordination within Kuiper's satellite manufacturing plant

  • Lead and manage a team that includes production coordinators, schedulers, and expeditors

  • Oversee daily plant operations to ensure timely and accurate production and material movement between production lines

  • Coordinate between production, quality assurance, and logistics to streamline workflows and eliminate bottlenecks

  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for plant fulfillment processes

  • Embody Amazon's Leadership Principles to achieve and sustain operational excellence

  • Participate as a key member of the production leadership team

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or another relevant field.

  • 7+ years of experience in operations management within the aerospace industry.

  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of aerospace industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Proficiency in operations management software (e.g., ERP systems).

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $175,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $302,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
