Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a passion of R&D to drive technologys future into the next generation of power supply and power conversion products. The position is on our highly skilled team of professional problem solvers within our Cabin Power Group in Kirkland, WA.

JOB SUMMARY

Perform the engineering development and associated support of contracted programs, Bid and Proposals and Internal Research and Development activities. Assist in new business development and follow-on activities. This is a senior job level requiring leadership, strong technical skills, mentoring skills and good presentation skills. Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues. Independently applies a high degree of creative ability, engineering skill and judgment in applying engineering principles.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Propose and perform R&D and drive power supply and power conversion technology innovation into New Product Development

  • Responsible for the technical aspects of design and development of in seat power supplies and USB OUs for commercial aircraft.

  • Stay abreast of power conversion industry and technology trends, and adapt this knowledge to relevant innovation.

  • Conduct trade studies to determine optimum approach, develop new and improve existing technologies, recommend standard topologies for specific applications

  • Resolve technical problems with a high degree of analytical expertise and originality and drive problems to resolution.

  • Prepare and present analyses and technical rationales for your designs at internal and external reviews.

  • Experience in meeting DO-160, Boeing, and Airbus requirements and development and support of test procedures/reports.

  • Experience using OrCAD, SPICE, and SABER software.

  • May provide EE team leadership on a product development or research project.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Demonstrates proficiency in the duties and responsibilities of the role, typically obtained with 5-7 years of direct experience in power supply design products similar to those at Astronics AES.

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

  • An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test including screening for the use of cannabis.

Salary is $102,687 - $154,031 per year . Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
