Job Summary
The Graphic Designer I, under general supervision, supports various creative projects for marketing and communication needs, including designing and editing graphics/photos for use in print, multimedia, web sites, social media and other marketing campaigns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and creates graphics for wide variety of print and online publications, illustrations, collateral materials, website, video and social media channels.
Creates motion graphics for use on web sites and multi-media presentations.
Works with third party vendors to obtain quotes and prepares bids as required by the State of Texas.
Maintains documentation for each project including approvals, comments, drafts and artwork.
Collaborates with customers as needed from concept to creation to customer support.
Serves as an expert on University brand identity and must be able to effectively communicate brand and graphic standards, including information related to logos, colors, typography and imagery in order to ensure consistency across all communication channels and marketing materials.
Works independently while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
Serves as a collaborative partner to clients from across campus assisting in the project process from concept to creation.
Acts as a technical resource in design software, hardware and techniques.

Minimum Requirements
Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Graphics Design, Fine Arts, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience – No prior experience required.
Knowledge of – Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to – Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong oral and written communication skills.
