Job Description
Job Summary
Ensure that all raw materials, intermediate products, and finished products conform to applicable specification requirements during processing. Perform product/process audits ensuring compliance with Standing Operating Procedures, Manufacturing Instructions and Analytical Standard Methods. Perform building inspections ensuring compliance to quality assurance practices and procedures. Perform packaging inspections ensuring compliance with product specifications. Initiate quality assurance investigations as product discrepancies are identified. Initiate corrective and preventative actions as discrepancies are identified.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience/Education
High school education with a minimum of 2 years experience in quality assurance /quality control to include product inspections or analytical testing. Associate degree in Chemistry (or comparable scientific discipline) preferred.
Skills/Knowledge
Knowledge of sampling and inspection processes including the proper use of sample inspection tables. Knowledge of product/process audits and verification of processes to established procedures.
Physical Effort and Dexterity
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time; work with small and/or fragile test and calibration equipment; use hands to finger, handle or feel; climb ladders; work in ambient temperature environment for 2 to 3-hour periods.
Sensory Acuity
Ability to speak and hear to use 2-way radio and communicate with others; detect slight irregularities or defects of raw materials, packaging supplies or products visually, or by touch or smell
Environment and Scheduling
Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts and/or flexing hours to match production schedule; work in all weather conditions
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Desired Qualifications
Completed 40 hours training in Quality related science; background in Chemistry; knowledge of analytical methods and procedures and explosive production processes; knowledge of ISO 9000 standards; experience utilizing quality tools including inspection tables and Root Cause Analysis; intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access; beginner skill level in LabSoft LIMS.
2-5 years of prior experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in a government contracting environment.
Previous experience performing root cause analysis of product failures.
Associates Degree in Chemistry (or other scientific discipline).
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $52955 - $84728
