Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist III to join our team in Prescott, Flagstaff, Show Low, and Kingman. The ideal candidate will have experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontaminating equipment, and updating patient information. The Phlebotomist III will collect and store specimens according to established procedures and explain the process to patients in a clear and courteous manner.
Responsibilities
Perform blood draws and label specimens.
Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
Decontaminate equipment and update patient information.
Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection processes clearly and courteously to patients.
Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
Understand and follow all physicians' orders.
Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Check all test requisitions or computer labels against script to ensure 100% accuracy.
Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperatures.
Place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes and label them accurately.
Follow specific protocols to maintain the integrity of specimens during transport.
Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attend annual department trainings.
Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
Essential Skills
Phlebotomy certification valid in the state of employment.
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
High School Diploma or GED.
5-7 years of experience in phlebotomy.
Experience with venipuncture, blood draws, and specimen collection and processing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
Strong customer service skills.
Work Environment
This position operates in an outpatient Patient Service Center (PSC) with hours from 7 AM to 4 PM. The role requires one phlebotomist at each of the following locations: 1

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $24.59
