Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. Power Engineer in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania

As a Power Engineer in Research and Development, you'll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.
As a Power Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
Maintain a detailed understanding of electric power systems and how to protect, monitor, and control the power system.
Assist in innovating power system protection solutions by developing algorithms to protect, control and monitor power system apparatus such as generators, motors, transformers, feeders etc.
Assist in developing simulation models of power system in Matlab, ATPDraw, RTDS etc. to validate and test the developed algorithms.
Assist in developing product specifications, develop and analyze functional tests.
Assist with application literature, instruction manuals, and data sheets.
Provide power engineering support for customer applications and Field Application Engineers.
Author technical papers to present at technical meetings and conferences.
Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
This job might be for you if:
You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
You have 2+ years' experience in electric power systems, protection practices, and philosophies.
You have experience working in industrial and distribution power systems, and the ability to communicate those experiences.
You have working knowledge of apparatus and protective relay application at an electrical utility or industrial plant.
