Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an experienced Mid Career Software Systems Engineer to support the Meridian program, focusing on the development and integration of software applications for a satellite communications system. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, experience with agile development methodologies, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and integrate software applications
• Develop and maintain automated test cases and frameworks to ensure software quality and reliability
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery of software features
• Analyze and solve complex software problems, working closely with team members to identify and implement solutions
• Contribute to the development of software documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and system architecture diagrams
• Apply software engineering principles and best practices to develop and maintain software applications, including expertise in software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
Ensure software applications are designed and developed with cybersecurity and reliability in mind, following industry standards and best practices
Basic Qualifications:
• Software engineering experience
• Experience with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Active or current SECRET security clearance; US Citizenship required
Desired Skills:
• Software engineering experience within a defense oriented industry or program
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on agile development methodologies and automated testing
• Military Communications Satellite background or experience with similar systems
• Experience in Automated Test Development and Execution
• Results-driven with strong problem-solving skills applied to software engineering solutions
• Working knowledge of Git, GitHub, and other version control systems
• Working knowledge of DevSecOps Pipelines and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) tools
• Excellent understanding of Agile Methodologies as they relate to the Scaled Agile Framework
• Experience with delivering highly reliable Communications / Ground subsystems
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or similar certification
• Experience with Scaled Agile development and Agile methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
