Primary Responsibilites:

  • Manage evaluation and commercialization of new processes and deployed technologies.

  • Work closely with Technical Director and Director of Engineering to plan, coordinate and prepare for evaluation, deployment and/or commissioning of new processes and technologies.

  • Work closely with Operations, Sales, Compliance and other departments to evaluate potential processes and technologies to modify and improve current processes and operations.

  • Travelling to site for process evaluation, commissioning and key project handover milestones.

  • Developing an effective and productive working relationship with Operations, Compliance, H&S, and Inside Sales to ensure seamless transition of projects from the engineering phase to commercial phase.

  • Coordinate project completion on budget and on time from commissioning to full-scale commercial, working with the following departments:

  • Operations - to develop and implement all necessary training and procedures

  • Compliance – to ensure the process meets all permit requirements

  • H&S - to ensure safe operations at full scale and implementation of any risk analysis and/or safety review

  • Inside Sales – to establish all financial information needed for costs and pricing, changes to process codes, and any commercial consideration

  • Staying current on existing and emerging product and technologies.

  • Reporting project progress, any delays, changes in scope, or needed modification to deployed equipment and processes.

  • Maintaining ethical, cooperative manufacturer relationships consistent with company image and company brand in the marketplace.

  • Cooperating with qualified suppliers and contractors to ensure on time and on budget project delivery as well as ongoing service support.

  • Maintaining a professional/working image in self and work environment.

  • Work with Inside Sales to present the new process and/or technology, fit to customer needs and assist in successful commercialization.

  • Work with Legal to assist in the preparation of contracts with suppliers in the areas of commissioning, handover, process guarantees, and other areas to better position the company in the successful commercialization of processes and technology. Assist Legal in managing disputes with suppliers arising from deviations in commissioning and process.

  • Perform other duties as requested by manager.

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, science, or engineering

  • A minimum of 10 years in operations in chemical processing, preferably in the processing of waste.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management in the process or waste industry including commissioning of new processes and equipment.

  • Position requires the ability to travel 40% of the time.

  • Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.

  • Proven proficiency in the use of a personal computer accompanied by a strong aptitude for technical applications.

  • Previous experience working with other functional groups in the successful launching of new manufacturing or chemical processes.

  • Project management experience including budget control and working to a project timeline.

  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.

  • Self-starter with positive attitude towards customers and coworkers.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats, including sales presentations, demonstrated capability to develop strong interpersonal working relationships and work in a team environment.
