Summary of Position
The Instructional Coordinator provides essential support to both faculty and students, facilitating curriculum development for internship and cooperative programs, offering instructional support, and ensuring smooth program operations. This role is vital to enhancing the educational experience, meeting the needs of faculty and students, and contributing to a productive and supportive learning environment. The Instructional Coordinator will have supervisory responsibilities for work study students, internship students, and cooperative students. This role ensures the students’ professional development, the efficient functioning of the department’s instructional programs, and the growth of the department’s industry partnerships. The successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism and discretion, focusing on constructive collaboration.
Minimum Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum Required Experience
A combined five years of recent appropriate wage-earning experience in program coordination and curriculum development. A verifiable record of successful liaising with community stakeholders.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge:
Computer hardware and educational software and technology
Current educational trends and best practices in instructional support curriculum development and instructional design
Principles and processes to conduct needs assessments, measure quality, and evaluate stakeholder satisfaction
Strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources
Structure and content of the English language
Skills:
Assess and monitor performance; understand new information, and make improvements or take corrective actions
Coordinate actions with others and actively look for ways to assist people
Organize and manage projects
Research, prepare, and deliver programs and courses
Supervise and mentor students in work study, internship, and cooperative programs
Work effectively with faculty, students, and industry partners
Abilities:
Comprehend information and clearly communicate ideas through both spoken and written forms
Generate innovative ideas, develop creative solutions, and visualize changes or rearrangements in a given context
Identify problems, apply general rules to specific situations, combine information to form conclusions, and arrange actions in an orderly manner
Maintain focused attention on tasks over time and accurately remember information, procedures, and details
