Hours Full-time, indicate working hours - Mon-Thu 7:30-5:30 Fri 7:30-11:30, Overtime, describe requirements - As needed during peak registration
Summary of Position
Under direct supervision of the Director of Financial Aid. Advise financial aid students and be completely familiar with the types of aid available to students including: federal, state, and institutional aid. Process FAFSA files according to federal regulatory requirements. Must be able to handle sensitive matters as they relate to student tax information, marital status, household information. Be familiar with all areas within student services in order to advise students regarding the entire student process. Travel to high schools and community events for recruiting and advising purposes.
Minimum Required Education
Associate’s degree from a nationally, regionally, or identified and the state level accredited institution of higher education or equivalent number of credit hours (60). Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum Required Experience
Associates Degree and two (2) years related experience OR eight years wage earning experience.
A copy of certificates and/or college transcripts required with application for evaluation purposes.

Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
Ability to display empathy and positive regard for others in written, verbal and non-verbal communications, even in the face of stress or demanding workplace conditions.
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitask with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information and follow FERPA guideline.
Ability to be friendly and collegial with co-workers, faculty, students, staff and visitors to the campus.
Effective friendly customer service and receptionist skills.
Knowledge of student financial aid programs and their rules, regulations, and eligibility requirements.
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and methods including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Ability to be understanding and compassionate when communicating with students who are in stressful situations regarding personal and financial situations.
