Diabetes Care Kilkenny
Our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, opening in 2024, reflects the growing demand for Abbott's global Diabetes Care products. The facility will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies, including the FreeStyle Libre 3, a system that automatically delivers real-time, up-to-the-minute glucose readings, with the smallest and thinnest wearable glucose sensor that provides unsurpassed 14-day accuracy and optional glucose alarms directly to smartphones. As Purchasing Specialist you will identify, research, and evaluate suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. This is a Fixed Term Contract Position.
Responsibilities
Analyze and evaluate supplier bids, tenders, proposals, or quotations for indirect materials.
Ensure appropriate inventory replenishment plans are in place for indirect materials.
Execution of purchase orders driven in line with set inventory policies.
Commit to purchases (within established limits of authority) with terms that are in the organization’s best interest.
Ensure integrity of master data and purchasing parameters in SAP.
Liaise with logistics function and goods inwards to ensure timely collection of goods.
Interpret inventory requests and production schedules to coordinate purchasing activities for goods and materials.
Monitor the quality and timeliness of materials and goods supplied.
Follow-up the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
Communicate status of orders with internal customers.
Ensure timely reconciliation of invoices for payment.
Education and Experience
Minimum qualification of NFQ level 7 in a relevant discipline.
Minimum 2 years
Related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
