FACILITIES SKILLED LABOR

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION Under general supervision, performs a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction work in the completion of Ward Cove Group activities and operations including operation and maintenance of mobile equipment, small vessels and construction tools and equipment, cutting welding and fabrication.

DUTIES INCLUDE

  1. Project task support:
  • Welding
  • Painting
  • Minor construction
  • Minor Maintenance
  1. Road maintenance.
  2. Snow plowing
  3. Facility equipment troubleshooting
  4. Assist Remote Made Easy as needed
  5. Advising supervision of concerns or problems relative to maintenance issues
  6. Other duties as assigned

In addition to vehicles, watercraft and mobile equipment, Ward Cove Group owns and operates many facilities including, but not limited to parking lots, port facilities, roads, sewers, stairways, buildings and dams. The Skilled Labor is responsible for providing maintenance and repair services for these facilities as needed in a safe, efficient manner and is frequently required to make independent, sound judgments on projects affecting employee safety, the public health and safety, and must have the ability to work without direct supervision.

ABILITIES The employee in this position will have the ability to:

  1. Read and understand following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  2. Understand preventive and predictive maintenance and develop schedules accordingly.
  3. Possess basic computer skills including internet, email, MSWord.
  4. Read and understand Safety Data Sheets
  5. Maintain accurate records
  6. Obtain 24 Hour HAZWOPER certification within 90 days of hire (employer provided)
  7. Obtain Commercial Drivers License within 180 days of hire (May be employer sponsored)
  8. Obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and stand MARSEC
  9. Work independently in a shop setting and outdoors
  10. Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
  11. Adapt to changes in priorities as may be directed
  • May be required to assist with fuel transfers and remote fuel deliveries
  • May be required to work in inclement weather
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends or overtime
