The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $35.22 – $52.84. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

PeaceHealth has been serving the communities of Southeast Alaska since 1923 with Ketchikan Medical Center, a 25-bed critical-access hospital offering comprehensive trauma care, outpatient and home health services, and a 29-bed long-term care facility. Primary and specialty medical care is provided by PeaceHealth Medical Group—Ketchikan and Prince of Wales Island. Our Trauma IV emergency department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, staffed by physicians who are independent contractors employed by National Emergency Services (NES).

Primary responsibilities will include pulmonary function testing, cardio-pulmonary stress tests and bronchoscopes, maintaining and troubleshooting ABG equipment, and performing scheduled outpatient procedures for Pulmonary Diagnostics. General care and maintenance of Pulmonary Diagnostic equipment and training of other staff to assist with procedures. Knowledgeable of the compliance requirements of local, state and federal regulations. Responsible for the overall function of Pulmonary Diagnostic Services.

Details of the position:

  • Performs all responsibilities required in Pulmonary Diagnostics - Approved by the Medical Director. This may include pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopies, metabolic testing, treadmills, EEGs, and other procedures.

  • Troubleshoots all equipment used in Pulmonary Diagnostics.

  • Performs essential functions of Respiratory Therapist.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

  • Accredited Program Required: Respiratory Care Program. 2-year AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program or approved alternative education as outlines in the state regulatory requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years Required: Experience as a Respiratory Therapist and

  • Preferred: Experience in ICU and Pediatrics and

  • Required: Must be able to care for patients from Pediatric to adult independently

  • Required: Registered Respiratory Therapist and

  • Required within 1 Year: Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist Therapists that are core Pulmonary Diagnostics staff before 2010 and have not passed the NBRC C-PFT exam are not required to pass the C-PFT exam to stay in that core area and

  • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support and

  • Required within 6 months: Advanced Cardiac Life Support

  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Required)

  • Must maintain all certifications, competencies and licensure as required by the department or as regulated by state or federal agencies. (Required)
