Overview

Kernersville Medical Center (NHKMC) is seeking a dynamic and visionary President & Chief Operating Officer to lead our 63-licensed bed nonprofit hospital, affiliated with Novant Health, serving the Greater Winston-Salem Market. In this pivotal role, the CEO/COO will shape the future of healthcare delivery, focusing on quality, efficiency, and financial performance to meet the evolving needs of our community.

The ideal candidate will develop and implement strategic plans that align with Novant Health’s mission, oversee hospital operations to ensure high-quality service delivery, and collaborate with physician partners and community leaders to enhance patient care. Additionally, the CEO/COO will foster a culture of accountability and innovation among staff while managing budgets effectively to ensure the sustainability of our services.

Qualifications

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree - Healthcare / Business Administration or Related field, required. Graduate Degree - Healthcare / Business Administration or Related field, required.

  • Experience: 7+ years progressive executive management experience and working knowledge of all aspects of a large, integrated health system, required. Ideal candidate will have 6-8 years expereince in acute care operations, preferred.

  • Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing; possess knowledge of current leadership, management, and business concepts, and the ability to participate in developing and implementing organizational strategies to address opportunities to improve organizational performance.; possess the educational and experiential requirements of leadership; possess personal / professional / educational attributes as defined by federal, state, local laws and regulations.

onboards and develops an engaging atmosphere with medical staff/physicians, team members,and the community.

Focuses on Quality, Safety, and Human Experience - Commits to high-quality, safe, andremarkable patient care in every dimension, every time. Strives for excellent outcomes and

promotes the expectation of achieving the highest standards and quality measures. Partners withQuality, Regulatory and Compliance, Legal and other corporate departments to ensure the facility

achieves both high reliability and compliance with outside agencies.

Aligns with the NH Culture - Shows compassion, appreciates and values diversity and inclusion,builds strong relationships and instills trust. Collaborates with organizational leaders and manages

interdependencies across divisions/disciplines to design and provide patient care and servicesincluding development of patient care programs, establishment of standards of practice,

Acts with Courage - Displays the ability to address difficult circumstances and make toughdecisions. Speaks up and expresses opinion when something does not feel right or does not align

with the critical mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Engages Community - Engages the community by actively being the face and ambassador ofNovant Health and participating in community activities. Identifies opportunities to have

interactions with representatives in the community (i.e.; rotary, foundation, local boards, etc.)
