City of Kentwood Crime Analyst in Kentwood, Michigan

Pay and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $56,240-$75,371, dependent on qualifications and experience. The City of Kentwood offers a comprehensive benefits package the includes a 12% employer retirement plan contribution, 11 paid holidays, three personal days, 12 sick days and up to four weeks of vacation annually.

We're proud to be among the first municipal employers in West Michigan to offer a fully paid parental leave benefit. Our policy provides employees with four weeks of fully paid leave following birth, adoption or placement for adoption. Employees who give birth are eligible for an additional two weeks of leave for a total of six weeks fully paid.

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Police Services Captain, main responsibilities for this role include 

collecting, evaluating, analyzing and disseminating information and intelligence data regarding criminal activity, criminal enterprises, and suspected criminal acts within the Kentwood Police Department's area of operation in support of the Department's proactive policing activities. May provide the same information and intelligence data to other law enforcement and public safety entities with a need and right to know including regional, state, and federal law enforcement and intelligence organizations. This position is also responsible for supports programs and projects of the Department.

Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, criminal intelligence, statistics, business administration, or a closely related field and two years of professional statistical and analytical experience as a Crime or Criminal Intelligence Analyst, or a related assignment in a law enforcement agency.  Please view the full job description and requirements{target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"} for more details.
