Engineer- Quality & Contin Improvement III

Kent, WA

Contract Position

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute commercial quality processes for the design, test and manufacture of engines.
  • Responsible for implementing quality initiatives that will support development and low rate engine production.
  • Solve sophisticated problems and provide operable solutions; act with minimal direction and take ownership; and be adaptable as we work on a variety of applications and systems.
  • Establish, implement, maintain, and carry out quality system processes that support products in development and production environments
  • Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals
  • Integrate quality system applications between engineering, manufacturing, and operations to ensure the consistent and ongoing use of quality best practices and communication of quality issues
  • Review and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records.
  • Perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and make recommendations to improve the quality and manufacturability of new designs
  • Recommend initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system quality
  • Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing and test for the Additive Manufacturing team
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns
  • Develop and present training materials to build quality awareness

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in engineering/science or American Society of Quality.
  • Certified Quality Engineer certification 4+ years' proven experience in the engineering field with at least 3 years in a quality engineer role
  • Quality Assurance experience in production environment.
  • Aerospace, space launch, or military or commercial aviation preferred
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Desired Skills:
  • Engine Assembly QMS knowledge - AS9100 Transitioning products from development to production Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of aircraft or aircraft engines
