Job Title:

 Adjunct Faculty - PART TIME AFTERNOON TEACHER/CLOSER FOR TODDLER AND/OR PRESCHOOL CLASSROOMS AT THE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER

 Kent Campus - Kent, OH

Salary:

Afternoon Teacher/Closer - $16+/hour dependent on experience, degree, and length of commitment.

Basic Function:

This is currently a part-time classroom position for toddler and preschool classrooms from August 15, 2024 -- May 9, 2025. Recurring contract beyond spring semester dependent on performance. 

Additional Basic Function -- if applicable:

The CDC follows the KSU academic calendar and therefore, observes all federal holidays and school breaks.  This individual reports to the school director. 

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

.  Responsibilities include: 

1. Engage in reflective thinking about one's own teaching. 
2. Share responsibilities associated with the care and education of young children (e.g. individual care needs such as diapering). 
3. Monitor classrooms and afternoon teaching assistants for compliance to all rules and policies and provide support in classrooms as needed. 
4. Remain at school until all children are picked up by the appropriate individual. 
5. Ensure the security of the building and follow all lock up procedures. 
6. Adhere to all professional ethics, licensing regulations, and university/center rules and policies. 

Responsible for maintaining 20 hours of "Ohio Approved" professional development every 2 years

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of an Associate's degree, CDA OR 3+ years successful early childhood teaching experience. 

Preferred Qualifications -- if applicable:

Supervisory experience highly desirable.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

 Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.

Special Instructions Summary:

Hours are Monday-Friday until 5:45pm.  Starting time is negotiable but total hours cannot exceed 28 hours/week.
