Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

Perform detailed inspections and testing on metal fabricated parts, components, and instruments using gauges and measurement tools to validate product conformity. Inspection equipment includes, but is not limited to, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, dial bore gauges, and optical comparators. Maintain inspection equipment and verify calibration, complete all inspection documentation for components, and use Microsoft Excel for data input. Maintain accurate records to ensure all parts are traceable and quality issues can be addressed to assure the quality of all products. Provide quality systems training and assistance to production employees as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed inspections and testing on metal fabricated parts and components.

  • Use gauges and measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, dial bore gauges, and optical comparators.

  • Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment.

  • Complete inspection documentation for components.

  • Input data into Microsoft Excel.

  • Maintain accurate records for traceability and quality assurance.

  • Provide quality systems training and assistance to production employees.

Essential Skills

  • 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • 2 years of experience inspecting with micrometers and calipers.

  • 1 year of blueprint reading experience.

  • 1 year of experience with quality documentation.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel for basic data entry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • CMM experience (preferred).

  • GD&T experience.

  • Experience with optical comparators.

Work Environment

This is a 2nd shift position with hours from 2:30pm – 1:00am Monday through Thursday. Training will be on 1st shift hours from 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday through Friday. The facility is a clean, climate-controlled medical device manufacturing environment with approximately 150 employees across two shifts. The quality team consists of about 15 employees. The quality lab includes computers, inspection stations, and storage for measuring devices. Departments include engineering, machining, maintenance, assembly, quality, polishing, and warehouse. The dress code requires steel-toe shoes and safety glasses on the floor, along with plain-colored shirts and jeans or work pants.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of KENOSHA, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
