MDU Resource Group Inc Enterprise Network Architect in Kennewick, Washington
Description MDU Resources Group, Inc., the largest publicly traded company headquartered in North Dakota, with operations, customers, and more than 10,000 employees across the country is seeking an Enterprise Network Architect to provide complex level design of the Enterprise IT functions including system wide security, critical infrastructure, applications, video, telephony, data, cloud and on-premise environments, business partners and contractors. The successful candidate will coach and mentor junior team members and others on network and network security aspects, processes and procedures; may be assigned staff to manage and lead during the implementation and/or support of complex enterprise solutions; will work closely with users, business analysts, Enterprise IT, Business Unit IT and operations staff, vendors and fellow architects to ensure the IT architecture delivery is secure, reliable and performance focused. All MDU Resources employees are responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field or equivalent experience; and Seven years of Information Technology experience with proven record of increasing work responsibility, effective analysis and leadership/project management. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access. This position is located in Bismarck, ND; Boise, ID; or Kennewick, WA. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered. Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Certifications related to Network, Telephony, Security, and Cloud. Experience supporting an Enterprise environment JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Develops, manages and maintains an enterprise architecture aligned to support business strategy for multiple environments including test, development, production and disaster recovery Determines and develops secure architectural approaches and solutions, conducts business reviews, documents current systems and develops recommendations of how to proceed with the application of security controls and network connectivity whether they are on-premise or in the cloud. Collaborates with users, data owners, business analysts, vendors, architects and IT Management to ensure the architecture delivers safe, secure and reliable technology solutions. Modifies architecture as needed to support corporate initiatives and strategy. Leads complex network and network security projects as required to support additions or changes to the enterprise network and associated services. As the subject matter expert in network and network security subjects, mentors fellow team members and shares technical reviews with team members to expand the knowledge base of the entire team. Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
