Aston Carter Accountant in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania
One of Aston Carter's rapidly growing clients within the Life Sciences industry is looking to add a Sr. Accountant to their team in Chester County. The most qualified candidates will have hands on experience with month end close functions along with experience in FP&A. This is an URGENT need and will move quickly!
Job Description
This Sr. Accountant will be responsible for supporting all financial activities of the company. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Sr. Accountant will ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting, compliance with external reporting requirements, and assist in establishing internal controls. This role will be pivotal in directing the day-to-day accounting tasks, month-end close process, and supporting the budgeting/annual planning process.
Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc financial reports for CFO review.
Drive an efficient month-end close process by ensuring all transactions, both automated and manually generated, are complete, accurate, and substantiated with supporting documentation.
Liaise with the company’s CPA firm and provide supporting records/reports for the preparation of accurate tax filings.
Monitor the company’s debt covenants and initiate actionable steps to ensure minimum thresholds are met.
Develop controls to ensure that all required financial reports are submitted to external stakeholders by the pre-determined deadlines.
Support the CFO in the development of the annual financial plans/forecasts.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly reforecasts.
Identify and monitor actual vs. plan variances, supply department heads with monthly reporting of their spend activities vs. plan, and coordinate with leadership by providing actionable insights that address expense variances.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
Evaluate existing controls, and design/revise new or existing controls to ensure a robust internal control system is in place to safeguard the company's assets.
Regularly review and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Prepare monthly invoicing for key partnerships.
Other tasks and duties as delegated by CFO, COO/President, and/or CEO.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
5+ years of experience within a US GAAP setting with functions related to month end close such as journal entries and reconciliations
3+ years of experience with Profit and Loss (P&L) statement analysis and depreciation/amortization schedules
2+ years of experience with budgeting and forecasting
2+ years of experience with a non-proprietary Accounting ERP
2+ years of experience with creating pivot tables, vlookups, data manipulations and advanced formulas within Microsoft Excel
Work Environment
5 days onsite in Kennett Square, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $42.00
