Amentum Construction Cost Estimator III in Kennedy Space Center, Florida

JOB DESCRIPTION/POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :

Perform Construction Cost Estimating activities in support of industrial base operations and maintenance of facilities infrastructure. Ability to complete full quantity take-offs to support accurate estimates for all disciplines in industrial projects including, but not limited to civil and site work, structural, concrete, envelope, finishes, mechanical, and electrical. A complete understanding of the interrelationship of the cost of labor, material, equipment, and productivity in the unit costs used at each level of an estimate is expected. Provide solid critical-thinking, analytical and communication skills in support of Project objectives. Maintain close attention to detail and manage time and meet aggressive deadlines. Exhibit proficiency in utilization of RS Means Estimating software. Ensure assigned projects are completed on time, and within approved scope and budget. Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status. Develop, maintain, and produce documentation in support ROM and Task Plan efforts. Interface with customers to comply with scope and schedule requirements. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested

REQUIRED SKILLS/SPECIAL TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS :

Experience in HVAC and Fire Protection construction preferred. Good communications and analytical skills. Proficient working knowledge of RS Means or similar Construction Cost Estimating software. Demonstrable experience in ability to navigate through all sections of cost estimating software. Working knowledge in MS Office Suite. Demonstrated experience in meeting schedule deadlines.

EDUCATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE (Ref. Section C: Job Leveling) :

Associate’s degree in related field and five (5) years of construction estimating job-related experience or equivalent.
