Astrion has an exciting opportunity for aLaunch Equipment Test Facility Instrumentation Technician, 2ndShiftfor theLASSO IIcontract, supporting theSpace Division.Depending on experience, this position may be either an Aerospace II or Senior Technician. This position is currently funded for one year.
JOB DETAILS
This position is responsible for installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation and industrial controls in support of the KSC Launch Equipment Test Facility (LETF). This position will be direct support of large-scale testing at the LETF. The LETF is the primary test facility for the Kennedy Space Center supporting testing of Ground Support Equipment for Mobile Launcher/Artemis Program, research laboratories, and outside aerospace companies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Aerospace Tech II: Seven (7+) or more years of progressive and relevant hands-on experience, with a strong emphasis on Data Acquisition and Industrial Controls in an operational and/or test environment.
Senior Tech: Ten (10+) or more years of progressive and relevant hands-on experience, with a strong emphasis on Data Acquisition and Industrial Controls in an operational and/or test environment.
Working knowledge of Instrumentation Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) hardware and associated cabling.
Installation and setup knowledge of instrumentation sensors such as load cells, pressure transducers, potentiometers, RTD/Thermocouples, flow meters, and strain gauges.
Working experience with crimping/soldering and the ability to fabricate test specific cables and wire harnesses.
Working knowledge of troubleshooting equipment such as multi-meter, oscilloscope, and cable analyzer.
Working knowledge of fiber network infrastructure and the ability to fabricate/install facility network and fiber optic cables.
Experience with MS Excel.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team skills.
Ability to work outdoors for duration of shift as required, ability to lift 35 pounds, ability to distinguish between colors (ex: blue and green wires).
Must be able to climb ladders, towers, and stairs. Will require occasional physical exertion in climbing, lifting, squatting, carrying, or critical work in cramped quarters.
Operate and maintain handling equipment such as forklifts (up to 20K) and High Reach (JLG). Training provided.
Occasional overtime and weekend work, sometimes with short notice, as required to meet testing schedule.
Current U.S. Citizenship is required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Familiarity with National Instruments and Allen Bradley equipment.
Electronics experience and troubleshooting on a board level.
Electrician experience with AC power systems up to 480V.
General familiarity with KSC / space launch ground support equipment, processes, procedures, and documentation.
Experience working with Maximo or other electronic work control systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate is an experienced, self-sufficient hands-on instrumentation technician with a solid background in hazardous testing/operations and maintenance experience in a large industrial environment. The candidate will directly support LETF testing operations, engineering, and test conductors.
