Job Summary: Responsible for all pertinent functions within Procurement department including but not limited to assisting District Merchandise Manager with assortment selection, planning and execution, advertising coordination, financial planning & execution, merchandise distribution & replenishment for each location within Japan district and administrative functions. Duties and Responsibilities: - Develops, executes and communicates merchandise financial plans at a worldwide and location level that support the NEXCOM mission and business the objectives of one or more departments. Coordinates inventory flow to support merchandise and financial goals. Continuously analyzes and reforecasts business and recommends/implements strategies and actions to drive sales, productivity and profitability. - Assists the District Merchandise Manager in evaluation, development and execution of appropriate stock assortments and sources of supply for the district that will be highly efficient. - Responsible for advertising information program sheets. Place orders as directed and track status to ensure on time receipts for advertised items. - Determines category assortment guidelines and flow of merchandise based on NEXCOM directives. - Participates in the collaborative development of business strategy and growth initiatives. - Implement new strategies based on the review & analysis of prepared reports. Frequent and cyclic preparation of sales, inventory, receipt, margin and stock turn reports. - Keeps abreast of current industry trends and changes in demand through but not limited to; vendor meetings, market trips, trade publications and commercial store visits. - Directs the distribution of goods to sales, profitability, inventory turnover and customer satisfaction across areas of responsibility. - Prepares inventory projections by monitoring sales, receipts markdowns and adjusts forecasts as appropriate. - Determine top and bottom sellers and take appropriate action when necessary including obtaining markdown support from the suppliers. - Actively engaged participates in supplier and merchant meetings by communicating supply chain opportunities, concerns and successes, including collaboration on forecasted need. - Proactively identifies cost saving opportunities with product distribution/supplier. - Effectively communicates with internal and external customers to negotiate price and/or address any issues pertaining to in-stock inventory or other supply chain concerns. - Responsible for supplying business analysis; as well as actionable, sound recommendations to address business needs on a consistent basis. - Conduct department's other administrative tasks simultaneously. - Provide training support to subordinates. - Supervises staff's daily activities and productivity; delegating tasks and coaching as needed. - Authority to sign leave slips, counsel associates, interview and make selection recommendation. - Works under general supervision of District Merchandise Manager. - Performs other related duties as assigned.
The incumbent of this position must file a Financial Disclosure Report (OGE) Form 450, as required Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 2 years of experience in administrative, merchandising, professional or other responsible work that enabled the applicant to gain a knowledge of retail/services merchandising and operational practices; skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships; and the ability to exercise mature judgment. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE : 1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience for general experience only. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year of experience that provided background in retail merchandising, merchandise display; developing and maintaining open to buy; selecting supply sources; analyzing operational data; regulations and procedures of one or more areas of a procurement system, or similar work that which demonstrated the knowledge and ability to ensure satisfactory completion of tasks within the operational area of the position.
Prior Supervisory Skills and Bilingual (English & Japanese) a plus but not required.
