Amentum Sr. Plumber in Kekaha, Hawaii
Amentum is seeking a Senior Plumber to support the Public Works department for our government customer located in Kauai, HI. Under the general supervision of a supervisor or lead-person performs work related to the operation, maintenance, fabrication, and alteration of facilities and equipment in the plumbing field at a skilled level.
Responsibilities
Specific assignment and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:
- Capable of setting up work tasks of varying complexities from written directions, drawings, and diagrams.
Maintenance and operation of the following systems:
compressed air systems
fire suppression systems
sewage treatment and distribution systems
potable water treatment and distribution systems
steam systems
hot water generating systems
petroleum oil and lubricant distribution and storage systems
buildings and structures plumbing systems
Performs assigned tasks in a highly skilled manner in accordance with established standards.
Exercises independent judgement in determining that proper work methods and safe practices are utilized.
Provides guidance and training employees assigned to lower skilled classifications.
Ensures that all property, materials, and tools are properly maintained and safeguarded.
Prepares and/or maintains reports and records related to the work assignments.
Coordinates with members of other activities to ensure timely and efficient accomplishment of assigned duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
High School or equivalent
Satisfactory completion of a military recognized trade school or have a minimum of four years apprenticeship or equivalent work experience
Ability to Obtain appropriate government license for forklifts up to 8 tons
Must have a valid Driver’s license
A minimum of 5 years of specific work experience in the specific field required.
Must be capable of acquiring the skill and knowledge of proper and safe use of tools and equipment associated with the various trades.
Must demonstrate ability to comprehend and follow instructions verbally or from written documents, drawings, or blueprints at a level necessary for satisfactory job performance.
Able to work in and around sewage treatment and disposal areas.
Must have ability to obtain appropriate State and Government licenses for forklifts up to 8 tons and stake trucks up to 5 tons.
Desired Experience
- Prefer applicant to have Hawaii certificate for water system operator or back flow prevention
Additional Responsibilities
Able to lift, push and pull over 50 lbs. (two-men assist)
Work requires walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, cramped, sitting and repeated stooping or frequent climbing.
Customer contact, extended workday, confined work area, field assignment, inclement weather
Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
